As a certified paramedical camouflage specialist, LeiLani is one of the few in Canada.
When LeiLani first began her career in Film and T.V. in 1990 the corrective industry was non-existent. Few people understand the complexity of this art of makeup. It is a skill that makeup artists need to be certified in understanding medical terminology, working closely with skin pigments along with aiding in emotional support.
As a volunteer with the Cancer Society, LeiLani recognized that she could also help so many others with her products, it wasn’t long before she also began using her products to help burn survivors and others suffering silently from all kinds of skin conditions.
Face the Future was a program founded by LeiLani, whereby working closely with the Burn and Trauma Unit, Occupational Therapists and Dermatologists, she volunteers her time through referrals to privately teach patients with mild to severe skin conditions how to camouflage their condition.
A top priority is for her team to volunteer in the summer at the kid’s Burn Camp in Squamish B.C. to provide hair and makeup for their dance and to help the firefighter’s decorate the train at Stanley Park at Christmas as proceeds go to the Burn Fund.
Under the umbrella of Face the Future the company donates 15% of the sales from the Skin Care Cover Foundation to the B.C. Firefighter’s Burn/Trauma Unit.
Today LeiLani receives referrals from Dermatologists, Plastic Surgeons, ICBC, WCB and the Burn and Trauma Unit. They all support LeiLani in her performance and ethics.
Her products and services are recognized by the World and Canadian Burn Congress.
LeiLani has literally changed people’s lives, although, she uses her products in the Film Industry, they were more importantly formulated to cover pre and post surgical bruising, scarring, birthmarks, burns and side effects from Cancer and Lupus treatments.
